Ticagrelor (TIC) is an effective drug in inhibiting platelets and is useful for preventing cardiovascular death, ischaemic stroke, or myocardial infarction. In this regard, a novel electrochemical sensor was reported based on a glassy carbon electrode modified with a carbon black/Ag-metal organic framework nanocomposite (GCE/CB/Ag-MOF) for selective TIC detection. To the best of our knowledge, the electrochemical application of a CB/Ag-MOF composite for TIC determination has not previously been reported. The proposed electrode was prepared by creating a conductive platform using Ag-MOF-decorated CB, forming a CB/Ag-MOF composite. Electrochemical tests were performed on the modified GCE using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and cyclic voltammetry (CV). The modified GCE showed a low limit of detection (LOD) of 0.0033 nM, a linear response over 0.01–2500 nM, and excellent selectivity, reproducibility, repeatability, and stability. A successful application in a serum sample yielded a recovery of 99.5–101.2% and a relative standard deviation (RSD) of less than 2.8%.
