Membership Certificate of the VNITOE Gasification Committee (1947) and Invitation to the Conference-Courses "Urban Gas Supply" (Leningrad, 1951): Documents from a Personal Archive

This note publishes four documents from the personal archive of Abutalib Mir Agha oglu Abdullayev (1912–1980), a Soviet gas-industry executive in the Azerbaijan SSR. The documents relate to the Gasification Committee of the All-Union Scientific Engineering and Technical Society of Power Engineers (VNITOE): a membership certificate (No. 428, 28 April 1947), an envelope, a form invitation, and the draft programme of the conference-courses “Urban Gas Supply” held in Leningrad on 9–16 October 1951. This deposit continues the earlier publications of Abdullayev’s bibliography, the 1959 publishing agreement for scientific editing, and the source-study note on his teaching activity. Read together, the documents illustrate his contact with all-Union professional networks in the late 1940s and early 1950s and reinforce the portrait of a manager who combined practical leadership of the gas economy with participation in the structures through which technical knowledge was circulated, standardised and taught. This publication documents and supplements the monograph "Gasification and Operation of the Gas Economy of Azerbaijan (1955–1970): A Historical and Sociological Study", presenting additional archival material that lies beyond the chronological and thematic scope of the monograph itself.
