Key result
Single-dose aspirin causes no pharmacokinetic interaction with clopidogrel in healthy rats.
Why the study?
The study was aimed to evaluate possible pharmacokinetic interactions between clopidogrel and aspirin.
Does concomitant administration of aspirin alter the pharmacokinetics of clopidogrel in healthy rats?
Does concomitant administration of aspirin alter the pharmacokinetics of clopidogrel in healthy rats?
Concomitant administration of aspirin and clopidogrel does not significantly alter the pharmacokinetic parameters of clopidogrel in a healthy rat model.
No PK interaction in healthy rats; leaves open translation to human DAPT regimens and warrants dedicated clinical studies.
The present study was aimed to evaluate any possible pharmacokinetic interactions between clopidogre and Asprin. clopidogrel concomitant administration in healthy rats as a single dose day, With the treatment was given on day one and day 8 both alone clopidogrel and Asprin concomitantly used both the drugs. The results were showed no significant difference in the tmax of clopidogrel on day 1 and day 8 respectively. These were no significant difference in both cmax and tmax of clopidogrel alone and combination of clopidogrel on day 1 and day 8 respectively. And there was no significance difference in AUC0-t and AUCo-inf also in alone and combination of both drugs on day 1 and day 8th. Based on the results obtained from kinetic study it is evident that the single dose of Asprin with clopidogrel individually and concomitantly treated shows no statistically significant interactions in its pharmacokinetic parameters

Haseeb et al. (2023) studied Healthy. Clopidogrel and Aspirin concomitantly vs. Clopidogrel alone was evaluated on Pharmacokinetic parameters (tmax, cmax, AUC0-t, AUC0-inf). Concomitant administration of a single dose of aspirin with clopidogrel in healthy rats showed no statistically significant pharmacokinetic interactions compared to clopidogrel alone.
