Airfares to distant leisure destinations are reported mostly as single deals. We describe the distribution of round-trip fares from the United States to Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar (Bali), using the aggregated price statistics published on a commercial fare-search site for the national market and for one main airport in each of 37 states, and we set them against the fixed charges on the trip and the official record of air traffic into Bali. Over the twelve months to 27 September 2026 the average round trip cost USD 1,245. The typical fare ranged from USD 1,081 for March departures to USD 1,784 for December, 1.65 times as much; the cheapest booking point, about 24 weeks ahead, averaged USD 1,052, and the final week USD 1,411. Averages by departure airport ranged from USD 993 at Seattle to USD 1,634 at Hartford, and 13 of 37 states averaged under USD 1,300. US government taxes and fees on a one-stop round trip totalled USD 75.13 (USD 75.49 from 1 October 2026), about 6.0% of the average fare; Bali's tourist levy and visa-on-arrival fee add about USD 8.37 and USD 27.91 outside the ticket. Provincial statistics show 6,948,754 foreign arrivals in 2025, 99.4% of them by air and 10.7% above 2019, including 274,611 Americans; Ngurah Rai received 11,961,772 arriving passengers, 62.8% of them on international flights. January–July 2026 arrivals ran 2.0% below the same months of 2025. All inputs are public.
