The price and supply of flights shape Hawaii's visitor economy, which received 9.53 million air visitors in 2024. We combine commercial fare-search averages retrieved on 27 September 2026 with official records from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS), the Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT), the Hawaii Department of Transportation and federal tax and fee rules. Round trips from the United States to Hawaii averaged USD 483 over the preceding month. Over the preceding year, monthly averages ran from USD 238 in January to USD 342 in June, a ratio of 1.44; by departure city, round trips to Honolulu averaged USD 441 from Los Angeles and USD 916 from New York, 2.08 times as much, while the four main arrival airports differed by at most USD 52 and five inter-island routes averaged USD 160 to USD 176. The average nonstop from the mainland took 7 h 10 min for 3,185 miles. Fixed federal charges on a nonstop mainland–Hawaii round trip came to USD 54.20, 11.2% of the average fare, before the 7.5% ticket tax. BTS data show that the average domestic fare paid from Honolulu fell 25.6% in 2026 dollars between 2015 and 2025, against 24.1% nationally. Air visitors in 2024 were 93.1% of the 2019 record; domestic-flight arrivals were 8.9% above 2019 and international arrivals at 54.8%. Honolulu received 64.0% of the 13.3 million seats flown to Hawaii, and western cities supplied 88.4% of domestic seats.
