With the increase in size and complexity of modern projects, the need for better training methods for project managers has become very critical. One of the most efficient training methods is a technique called management games. These games are based on a simulation model of a real project where the engineer challenges managerial problems in laboratory conditions. Most of the Civil Engineering Project Management Games require the use of computers; however, the use of mainframe computers in the past has not achieved the expected results. The new generation of microcomputers is better fitted to deal with the special conditions of the games. The paper discusses the advantage of using microcomputers in the games and demonstrates their application with a case study.
