Belimbing wuluh leaf tea reduces systolic blood pressure by ~29 mmHg after 7 days.
Why the study?
Hypertension prevalence in Kabupaten Magetan remains very high compared to the national target, necessitating evaluation of non-pharmacological treatments.

Averrhoa bilimbi leaf tea may effectively reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure in patients with hypertension.
May support further study of bilimbi leaf tea in hypertension; leaves open efficacy pending larger randomized trials.

Belimbing wuluh leaf tea (Averrhoa bilimbi) vs. Baseline (pre-intervention) was evaluated on Change in systolic blood pressure (MD 29.06 mmHg reduction, p=0.000). Belimbing wuluh leaf tea significantly reduced mean systolic blood pressure by 29.06 mmHg and mean diastolic blood pressure by 17.50 mmHg (p=0.000) after 7 days of consumption.
