Key result
Heparinization and surgical excision resolve atrial myxoma and LV thrombi with full 1-year recovery.
Why the study?
The incidence of multiple intracardiac masses is rare and differential diagnosis among myxoma, thrombus, and metastasis is challenging.
Population
1 49-year-old Asian woman with multiple intracardiac masses
Comparison
Multiple intracardiac myxomas vs thrombi vs metastatic tumors

Supports individualized multimodality management in rare concurrent intracardiac masses; hypothesis-generating and should not yet alter practice.
Case Report (n=1)
This case highlights the rarity of multiple intracardiac masses and demonstrates successful multimodality imaging differential diagnosis and treatment combining heparinization for thrombi and surgery for myxoma.
Lee et al. (2015) conducted a case report in Multiple intracardiac masses (right atrial myxoma and left ventricular thrombi) (n=1). Heparinization and surgical tumor excision was evaluated on Resolution of cardiac masses and symptoms. Heparinization successfully resolved the left ventricular thrombi, and surgical excision of the atypical right atrial myxoma led to full clinical recovery at 1-year follow-up.
