Sustainable development is of critical significance and requires further practical implementation. In this regard, green chemistry has emerged as a pivotal element, particularly in undergraduate chemical process design within the field of engineering. This course provides a foundation for students to comprehensively apply their professional knowledge and understand chemical production processes, playing an essential role in cultivating the competence of future chemical engineers. This paper presents a case study focused on the design of the ibuprofen process within the educational framework for cultivating engineering talents oriented towards green development. The design topic not only familiarizes student with industrial production methods but also guides designer to optimize the design process from the perspective of green chemistry principles. Following the design phase, the trainee developed a novel, efficient, and environmentally friendly process for ibuprofen production through the application of advanced technologies. This effort not only enhances student's comprehensive application and innovation abilities but also improves the effectiveness of the training program.
