Synthesis of secondary amines direct from the coupling of two aldehydes was first reported in the presence of NH 3 and H 2 molecules. A magnetic material supported palladium catalyst (γ-Fe 2 O 3 @HAP-Pd) was found to be active for this transformation at room temperature and atmospheric hydrogen pressure, providing structurally diverse secondary amines with good to excellent yields (70.0–92.3%).
