This article documents the development of a Reddit scraping workflow designed using ChatGPT-4 to study how U.S. military veterans use digital platforms to critique institutional systems such as the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The project's originality is in demonstrating how generative AI can scaffold accessible, recursive workflows that enable longitudinal and affective discourse analysis. Framing scraping and prompting as rhetorical practices, this paper shows how AI collaboration can support rigorous, ethically responsive research. Drawing on digital rhetoric, infrastructure studies, and AI ethics, this article offers a replicable model for analyzing discourse on a pseudonymous platform.
