Hybrid CNN-LSTM deep learning outperforms traditional machine learning for phonocardiogram-based heart disease detection.
Why the study?
Accurate and early diagnosis systems for heart disease are needed due to its status as a leading cause of mortality worldwide, and traditional approaches rely heavily on clinical expertise and structured data.
Does a hybrid CNN-LSTM deep learning architecture improve diagnostic accuracy for heart disease prediction from noisy phonocardiogram signals compared to traditional machine learning models?
Does a hybrid CNN-LSTM deep learning architecture improve diagnostic accuracy for heart disease prediction from noisy phonocardiogram signals compared to traditional machine learning models?
A hybrid CNN-LSTM architecture provides a scalable and noise-resilient solution for automated early detection of heart disease using heart sound signals.

Mamidi Thriveni, Mr.P.Mareswara Rao, Mr.Ch.Raja Jacob, Mrs.M.Revati (2026) studied Heart disease. CNN-LSTM deep learning architecture vs. Traditional machine learning models (Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, SVM, KNN) was evaluated on Heart disease prediction performance (accuracy, sensitivity, specificity). A hybrid CNN-LSTM deep learning architecture extracted features from phonocardiogram signals and maintained high prediction accuracy for early heart disease detection even in the presence of noise, outperforming traditional machine learning models.
