This study aimed to determine the relationship between Emotional Intelligence and the Effectiveness of Public Senior Secondary School Principals in Bwari Area Council, Abuja, Nigeria. The study specifically examined whether there is a relationship between the principals' self-awareness/self-regulation and instructional supervision effectiveness, and to establish whether there is a relationship between the principals' empathy/social skills and personnel/financial management effectiveness. The study was guided by two research questions and two null hypotheses. A correlational research design was used. The population of the study included 874 teachers from 12 public senior secondary schools in Bwari Area Council, with 285 sampled respondents. A structured questionnaire was used as the instrument for data collection, and Pearson product-moment correlation was used to analyze the data. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between the principals' emotional intelligence and administrative effectiveness in public senior secondary schools in Bwari Area Council, Abuja. Therefore, it was concluded that the identified features of emotional intelligence did not have a measurable linear relationship with the selected features of administrative effectiveness. Thus, it was recommended that principals' leadership training should blend emotional intelligence training with the development of administrative ability. More research should be carried out on these variables using broader measurements and possibly a mixed-methods approach.
