Key result
Surgical resection of metastatic RVOT leiomyosarcoma achieves recurrence-free survival at 9 months without adjuvant therapy.
Why the study?
Metastatic cardiac tumors are rarely diagnosed ante-mortem and data on management of metastatic leiomyosarcoma causing right ventricular outflow tract stenosis are limited.
Case Report (n=1)

Magishi et al. (2012) conducted a case report in Metastatic cardiac leiomyosarcoma causing right ventricular outflow tract stenosis (n=1). Surgical resection was evaluated on Tumor recurrence and patient survival. Surgical resection of a metastatic cardiac leiomyosarcoma in the right ventricular outflow tract was successfully performed, with no recurrence observed at 9 months follow-up without adjuvant therapy.
