We document the first confirmed record of Natalus lanatus from Guatemala, increasing the national bat fauna to 107 species, and present the first country-level synthesis of the geographic and elevational distribution of the genus Natalus . Morphological analyses of N. lanatus ( n = 8) and N. mexicanus ( n = 8) show clear differentiation, with the first two FAMD dimensions explaining 61% of total variance. Voucher-based records further show elevational segregation, with N. lanatus occurring at 731–2,573 m and N. mexicanus from near sea level to 523 m.
