Bandar Lampung is home to approximately 1.2 million people, is a metropolitan area located at the gateway between Java and Sumatera Island and serves as the administrative centre of Lampung Province. The city functions as a hub for government, education, tourism, trade and services. Rapid population growth and expanding economic activity have increased mobility demand. However, the urban transportation system remains dominated by private vehicles and online ride-hailing services, while the role of public transportation has tended to decline. In the Bandar Lampung area, particularly on major and national roads such as Street Z.A. Pagar Alam, Street Teuku Umar, Street P. Antasari, Street Imam Bonjol, the level of congestion is approaching saturation. Previous studies show that during peak hours, the volume of vehicles can exceed 2,000 units per hour, resulting in a road service level that falls into category D (approaching saturation). Additionally, the average vehicle speed often drops to around 20-25 km/h in the afternoon, and the length of queues and vehicle delays increases significantly during busy periods. The study's objective is to propose potential Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridors that are spatially integrated with metropolitan land-use patterns. The method in this study is descriptive qualitative, used to describe in writing systematically and using sentences that easily describe the real conditions of the research results obtained. While the analysis method in this study is secondary data analysis using Geographic Information System (GIS) with the help of ArcGIS 10.6 software. The results are anticipated to yield policy-relevant recommendations for the integration of transportation planning and spatial planning, especially in enhancing the coherence between Regional Spatial Planning (RTRW) and public transport network planning in Indonesia. This research contributes to bridging the gap between transport and spatial planning practices in the BLMA and provides practical guidance for policymakers and urban planners in promoting sustainable and integrated metropolitan development.
