Under pressure: The first valve-in-valve transcatheter aortic valve implantation for stenosis of a BioValsalva prosthesis using a Sapien 3 Ultra balloon expandable valve in a patient with complex congenital heart disease

Sherwen et al. (2022) conducted a case report in Severe bioprosthetic aortic stenosis with complex congenital heart disease (n=1). Valve-in-valve transcatheter aortic valve implantation (Sapien 3 Ultra) was evaluated on Procedural success and clinical recovery. Successful valve-in-valve TAVI using a Sapien 3 Ultra valve enabled rapid weaning from respiratory supports and improvement to NYHA class I at one month in an extreme-risk patient.
