Mangroves are coastal plants that have many benefits, one of which is being used as a dye. Natural colorants, which are color pigments from plant bioactive compounds, have been well studied. The propagule parts of the mangrove plant were taken from the mangrove species Ceriops tagal that grow along the coast of Bintan Island, Riau Archipelago. This research aims to produce natural dyes from the propagules of mangrove fruit and test their bioactive content using phytochemical screening methods and characterization tests with FTIR, as well as the implementation of the dye in ecoprinting using the iron blanket method. The phytochemical screening results showed positive content of alkaloids, flavonoids, polyphenols, and tannins, while FTIR revealed a dominant -OH peak as the main component of secondary metabolites. The utilization of colorants from plant pigments is carried out by dyeing fabric using the ecoprint method with various types of mordants. It was found that the colors on ecoprint fabrics become brighter, more durable, and can be utilized as a production effort in sustainable economicdevelopment.
