Magnetic coupling based Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) technology is appealing currently due to its potential in delivering power concurrently to multiple receivers. But in the multiple-receiver WPT system, the power level at the individual load decreases by increasing number of receiver loads. Thus, there is a critical limit to the number of receivers which supposed to be driven with predetermined amount of power for specific input power level. The current research is intended to exploit further the optimal load value under the given critical limit for similar load situation in multiple receiver WPT system. To corroborate the concept, the equivalent circuit model analysis of a series-series (SS) compensated n-receivers WPT system has been presented. The analysis reveals the essential parameters such as delivered load power to individual receiver and overall power transfer efficiency of the multiple receiver WPT system under similar load situation. It is well noticed from the results that there exists a unique combination between the numbers of receiver loads and the load value which needs to be maintained for enrichment of the system efficiency. Any deviation from this optimal load value corresponding to load’s critical limit results deterioration in the efficiency of the system. The inferences supported by both theoretical simulation and experimental tests are crucial in the development of a multi-receiver WPT system.
