This paper presents a newly discovered Arabic inscription from the Jordanian Harrah, dated to the Abbasid period. The inscription is carved on a black basalt stone in three lines and includes the date: Thursday, 15 Shaʿbān 171 AH (1 February 788 CE). Such a precise dating formula is exceptionally rare among inscriptions from the region. The study compares this inscription with other recently discovered inscriptions in the Jordanian desert, most of which record only the year.
