This paper reports on the results of ambient vibration measurements of six castle buildings in the Hikone Castle. The buildings measured are characterized by long irregular plan shapes and varying heights, including multiple towers in some areas. Vibration characteristics have been analyzed using the FDD method and Fourier spectrum ratio. The results revealed that ambient vibration measurements can provide clues and insights into the application of seismic assessment methods to traditional wooden buildings.
