The present study investigates the accuracy of the Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) in predicting wind pressures on a rectangular high-rise building in an urban area. First, three levels of mesh resolution were employed to compare the numerical results with previous wind tunnel data. Then, to improve the accuracy of predicting negative peak wind pressures, two additional mesh refinement patterns focusing on the surrounding buildings and the corners of the target building were tested. The results indicate that negative peak wind pressures can be accurately predicted when a mesh size is set to 1/160 of the building width with corner refinement.
