The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the way employees and employers in the U.S. tech sector are working and their notions of what works. The results of this study will look at the impact of the opportunity for tele- and hybrid work on employee productivity and organizational outcomes from 2020 through 2026. Research was conducted with a combination of research methods, starting with an online survey of 100 technology company workers to assess the level of productivity, engagement, communication, managerial support, digital readiness, and policy clarity. The findings show that 74% of respondents complete their tasks faster, and on average, remote/hybrid workers are more satisfied with the remote/hybrid experience with regard to productivity. Overall, the effective digital capability, the effective task systems, and organizational practices that enable communication and connection between the employees are the most effective processes to facilitate remote work. Therefore, the findings cannot be considered absolute in regard to whether remote working has a positive impact on the organizational performance but are an indicator of the trends in this sample.
