Financial institutions face unique software engineering challenges arising from regulation, privacy requirements, legacy systems, and operational resilience demands. At the same time, advances in artificial intelligence are creating new opportunities to improve the development, maintenance, and operation of financial software systems. The 3rd International Workshop on AI Solutions for Software Engineering Challenges in Financial Firms (FinanSE) was held on April 12, 2026, co-located with the 48th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The workshop brought together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to discuss AI-driven solutions for financial software engineering, covering topics such as trustworthy AI, large language models, legacy system modernization, explainable decision-making, and operational resilience in financial environments.
