This study aims to analyze the role of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia in resolving public complaints regarding service delivery for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program in East Lombok. The MBG Program is a strategic government initiative designed to improve the nutritional quality of the community, particularly students. However, its implementation faces various service-related issues that could potentially lead to maladministration, thereby necessitating effective oversight. This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were gathered through interviews and a literature review covering legislation, scholarly articles, government reports, and publications by the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia. The findings indicate that the Ombudsman plays a crucial role in handling public complaints through oversight, report verification, field investigations, and the provision of recommendations for improvement to relevant agencies. In addition to addressing incoming reports, the Ombudsman conducts proactive oversight—such as through the "Ombudsman On The Spot" program to directly identify potential service issues. This role has proven effective in preventing and addressing alleged maladministration and in driving improvements in the quality of MBG Program services. Nevertheless, there is still a need for increased public awareness regarding the Ombudsman's functions, authority, and complaint mechanisms to optimize public participation in oversight and ensure the continued improvement of service quality.
