Key result
TTVR achieves mild or less residual TR in ~98% of patients at 30 days.
Why the study?
The effectiveness, safety, and patient-reported outcomes of transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement (TTVR) in early US real-world registry experience required evaluation.
Does transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement (TTVR) improve effectiveness, safety, and patient-reported outcomes in US real-world patients?
Observational (n=1,034)
Yes
Does transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement (TTVR) improve effectiveness, safety, and patient-reported outcomes in US real-world patients?
In the first year of commercial US experience, transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement demonstrated high procedural success and near-complete elimination of tricuspid regurgitation with acceptable 30-day safety outcomes, though with a notable rate of new pacemaker/device implantation.
Answers are grounded in this paper and cite their sources.
High procedural success supports TTVR feasibility; leaves open durability and outcome questions for prospective trials.
Key Points Question: In early US real-world registry experience, what are the effectiveness, safety, and patient-reported outcomes of transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement (TTVR)? Findings: Among 1034 patients undergoing TTVR across 82 centers, a valve was successfully implanted in 98.4%, and residual mild or less tricuspid regurgitation was achieved in 97.7% of patients at 30 days. At 30 days, all-cause death was 3.1%; stroke, 0.2%; bleeding, 7.9%; and need for a new cardiovascular implantable electronic device among patients without a preexisting device was 15.9%. Meaning: In the first year after approval in the US, patients undergoing TTVR experienced acceptable early safety, near elimination of tricuspid regurgitation, and significant symptomatic and health status improvements.

Hahn et al. (2026) conducted an observational in Tricuspid regurgitation (n=1,034). Transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement (TTVR) was evaluated on Residual mild or less tricuspid regurgitation at 30 days. Transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement achieved 98.4% implantation success, 97.7% mild or less residual TR, and 3.1% mortality at 30 days.
