Laila Ripoll is a contemporary Spanish playwright, who pays special attention to the representation of the female body, as well as to various social issues. This article analyses four plays, focusing on the construction of dissident female bodies, which function as political and aesthetic expressions. The chosen texts are Atra Bilis(2013),Los Niños Perdidos(2013), Santa Perpetua(2013)and Unos cuantos piquetitos(2000). Within patriarchal art systems, female creators face limitations in terms of visibility and creative freedom. Ripoll responds to this situation through her theatrical practice, enriching the possibilities of the female body, which her plays turn into a narrative space, interweaving historical memory, political resistance and social critique. In this sense, the female body is not only a testimony to oppression, but also an emblem of resistance, offering future female playwrights fertile ground for building a more inclusive, critical and transformative theatre.
