The theatre of Carla Nyman (Palma de Mallorca, 1996) is characterized by its exploration of intimacy and female desire in opposition to the abusive display of the male body. This article examines some of her most recent works, in which the female protagonists grapple with the figure of a man represented either as virtualized or mediated through a machine: Hay una isla (2021), Yo solo vine a ver el jardín (2021), Oye la lluvia bajo este paraguas (2022), and Hysteria (2024). All of them reveal a clear commitment to creating a form of theatre that reflects on the oppression of female sexuality and the social transformation of sexual-affective relationships amid the rise of dating apps and fluid relationships. Her stage productions embrace a multimedia theatre that moves away from naturalism, incorporating technological resources and expressive physical performance that enrich the proposals through multiple artistic languages. This study undertakes a dramaturgical analysis of Nyman’s creations, also considering their staging elements, thereby combining a philological and sociological perspective to reflect on the thematic content of the works
