The health status of individuals of able-bodied age in the Russian regions with higher ecological load represents complex medical social problem conditioned by combined exposure to environmental, occupational, and psycho-social factors. The article systematizes the results of national and foreign studies dedicated to the impact of pollution of air, drinking water and soil on morbidity, mortality and subjective well-being of working population.
