Fiqh learning in Islamic junior high schools requires students not only to understand Islamic law but also to search for and analyze information to understand Fiqh-related issues. This study aims to describe the implementation of Resource Based Learning (RBL) assisted by an e-module, students’ critical understanding, and the role of this approach in supporting students’ critical understanding at MTs Al-Hidayah Limbangan. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the school principal, Fiqh teacher, and students. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was examined through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that RBL assisted by an e-module provides students with opportunities to learn actively and independently through activities involving searching for, analyzing, and processing information. Observation and interview results show that most students were able to search for information about Fiqh rulings, identify relevant evidence from Islamic sources and scholarly opinions, and use the information to understand learning-related issues. The e-module also helps students access various learning resources and provides a more active learning experience compared with the previous learning approach, which students considered monotonous. Therefore, RBL assisted by an e-module supports more active and independent Fiqh learning and offers opportunities to develop students’ critical understanding.
