The study demonstrated that main factors contributing to burning out of dietitians which propagation in this specialty is also as high as in other medical specialties, are work conditions, workload, young age, female gender, salary, support from administration, advancement opportunities, stress/conflict at work, field of practice and length of service. The particular risk factors of burning out of dietitians are interpersonal and emotionally stressful work associated with importance of developing therapeutic diets and recommendations on dietary restrictions for patients during illness, insufficient clinical experience in developing therapeutic menus and dietary regimens for patients, limited access to guidance and recommendations for counseling difficult patients with chronic diseases and at finale stage of life, low assessment of role and ignoring contribution of dietitians into teamwork. The decrease of feeling of professional efficacy and value of personal achievements is more significant in dietitians working with severely ill patients.
