CT integration with endocardial mapping improves atrial anatomical accuracy and ablation effectiveness over mapping alone.
Why the study?
Does integrating contrast-enhanced CT data with endocardial mapping improve the accuracy of left atrial geometry models compared to endocardial mapping alone in patients with supraventricular arrhythmias undergoing catheter ablation?

Does integrating contrast-enhanced CT data with endocardial mapping improve the accuracy of left atrial geometry models compared to endocardial mapping alone in patients with supraventricular arrhythmias undergoing catheter ablation?
Integrating contrast-enhanced CT data with electroanatomical mapping enables more accurate reproduction of left atrial anatomy, improving navigation and ablation effectiveness in patients with supraventricular arrhythmias.
The accuracy of models of cardiac anatomy obtained using endocardial mapping and models supplemented with contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) data was assessed for catheter ablation in patients with supraventricular arrhythmias. A comparative analysis of the geometric characteristics of the models, including the location and orientation of the pulmonary vein ostia, was performed using quantitative and qualitative metrics. The results showed that integration of CT data supports more accurate reproduction of atrial anatomy, improving navigation and increasing the effectiveness of radio-frequency ablation and cryoablation. The approach proposed here can be recommended for widespread clinical use to improve the accuracy and safety of interventional procedures.

Zatsarinny et al. (2026) conducted an observational in Supraventricular arrhythmias. Endocardial electroanatomical mapping supplemented with contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) data vs. Endocardial electroanatomical mapping alone was evaluated on Accuracy of cardiac anatomy models (including location and orientation of pulmonary vein ostia), navigation, and effectiveness of ablation. Integrating contrast-enhanced CT data with endocardial mapping improved the accuracy of atrial anatomy reproduction, navigation, and ablation effectiveness.
