This work challenges the Eurocentric and modern conception of contemporary art, proposing an interpretation that begins by generating a theoretical framework to address the modes of production, circulation, and activation of artistic practices. Unlike the modern model—centered on the autonomous object, technical virtuosity, and critically guided contemplation—contemporary practices transcend the object-based dimension, focusing instead on process, the dematerialization of the artwork, and participatory action. In this new scenario, the public ceases to be a passive spectator and becomes an active participant who co-creates and completes a situated, transformable, collective work linked to its social and political space.
