Due to the particularity of beam synthesis, monopulse phased array radar exhibits superior anti-deception performance in angle measurement. Based on the basic principle of sum-difference beams in monopulse phased arrays, this paper constructs a cross-polarization jamming model. This model describes the beam synthesis process of sum-difference beams under cross-polarization jamming, and reveals the jamming mechanism and key jamming parameters of cross-polarization jamming on monopulse phased arrays. To incrase the angle measurement error caused by jamming, a method for selecting jamming parameters is proposed. By adjusting the interference-to-signal ratio (ISR) and phase of cross-polarization jamming, the value of the disturbed sum-beam model is minimized, thereby achieving deviations in angle calculation. Simulations and anechoic chamber experiments verify the accuracy of the proposed model. Seven typical incident angles are selected to verify the effectiveness of the proposed parameters in angle deception. The results show that the effective range of the ISR is greater than 5%, and the effective range of the phase is greater than 8%. Compared with the simulation results, the proposed method has better robustness and achieves a more effective deception effect on the monopulse angle measurement of phased array radar.
