This study analyzes the opportunities, challenges, and ethical dimensions of adopting artificial intelligence (AI) in community-based Islamic education management in Indonesia. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following PRISMA guidelines across 47 peer-reviewed academic publications from 2023–2025, this research identifies four main opportunities: administrative automation, personalized learning, data-driven decision-making, and real-time quality monitoring. However, AI integration faces four fundamental ethical challenges: erosion of Islamic scholarly authority (isnad), technological inequality (‘adl), reduction of spiritual-emotional dimensions (tarbiyah), and data dependency lacking local sensitivity (context-blindness). To resolve these ethical tensions, this study formulates five managerial solutions aligned with maqashid al-shariah principles: governance strengthening, content verification systems, inclusive access strategies, humanistic pedagogy, and community-based customization. These formulations enrich digital Islamic education management theory while offering tactical guidance for majelis taklim and pesantren to adopt AI safely, inclusively, and ethically.
