A 59-year-old woman had three amnestic episodes at 10- and 11-month intervals; the second was documented only by witness report. Brain magnetic resonance imaging, electroencephalography, and amyloid positron emission tomography (PET) were performed. Diffusion-weighted imaging showed punctate hippocampal lesions, right-sided in the first and left-sided in the third. The Mini-Mental State Examination score remained 29, whereas amyloid PET was visually positive with diffuse cortical deposition. Amyloid pathology may coexist with recurrent transient global amnesia, although its clinical significance remains uncertain.
