Objective: The background of this study is the low level of students' learning independence in Indonesian Language learning, as indicated by the results of the self-regulated learning (SRL) questionnaire in the diagnostic assessment, which showed a score of 66%. In addition, classroom observations showed that students tended to wait for instructions and teacher assistance before starting their tasks. This study aimed to determine the improvement in students' self-regulated learning and learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with a deep learning approach. Methods: This study employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population consisted of fourth-grade students in Class IV-B at Banjaran 4 Elementary School, Kediri City, while the sample consisted of all 28 students in Class IV-B. Data were collected through an SRL questionnaire and learning outcome tests in the form of pretests and posttests. Data were analyzed using a normality test, the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, and N-Gain analysis. Results: The results showed that the mean SRL score increased from 66.54 to 75.64, with a Wilcoxon significance value of < 0.001. The mean learning outcome score increased from 47.93 to 92.61, with a Wilcoxon significance value of < 0.001. The N-Gain analysis yielded a mean score of 0.857, categorized as high. Novelty: These results indicate that the implementation of PBL integrated with a deep learning approach can support improvements in students' learning independence and learning outcomes in Indonesian Language learning.
