This study presents the design of the user interface and user experience of a smart parking system built on a structured information architecture. Parking services currently in operation still rely on manual methods and are not supported by internet-based services, so shortcomings remain in service management and users must inspect the availability of parking space on site. This study therefore develops a UI/UX design for a smart parking website through which users can book slots and view availability online. Payment is completed through the website rather than in cash, which reduces the queues that cash payment creates, and slots can be reserved in advance so that users obtain parking without visiting the lot first. Parking attendants no longer compile financial reports manually, because the system generates those reports automatically. The design was developed from a literature study and produced through the stages of information architecture mapping, sitemap design, wireframing, and high-fidelity interface design. The result is an interactive prototype of the smart parking system.
