Two names for cultivated cannas published by Liberty Hyde Bailey, Canna ×generalis L. H. Bailey and Canna ×orchiodes L. H. Bailey, lack previously designated nomenclatural types. Examination of original material preserved in the L. H. Bailey Hortorium Herbarium (BH), together with the protologues and associated annotations linking the specimens to the published figures, shows that one original specimen is known for each name. Lectotypes are designated for both names, and images of the types are provided.
