Diagnosis. The new species is similar to P. moorei, but differs from it by the following characteristics (characters of P. moorei in parentheses): Female: posterior margin of metapostnotum obtusely excised medially (posterior margin of metapostnotum straight medially); body black with yellow or brown markings, clypeus yellow (body bluish-black, clypeus black); hind femur without white spot ventrally, apical portion of wing infuscate, extending to apex of marginal cell (hind femur with white spot ventrally, apical half of wing infuscate); head and mesosoma with golden setae (head and mesosoma with silvery pubescence). Male. Unknown. The new species differs from P. amamiensis and P. ryoheii by female hind claw with one inner tooth; apical margin of female clypeus weakly bisinuate. The new species differs from P. taiwaniana by female 1 m-cu of forewing received by SMC 2 beyond midpoint; clypeal apical margin weakly bisinuate; pubescence on metasoma sparse; metasoma black with reddish-brown luster. The new species differs from P. junctella by female forewing with Rs 4 longer than Rs 3, apically narrow dark band indistinct, not reaching marginal cell; basal five antennomeres black dorsally and yellow ventrally. The new species differs from P. crinita by apical margin of female clypeus bisinuate; metasoma black with reddish-brown luster. The new species differs from P. hobbyi by female apical margin of clypeus weakly bisinuate; apically narrow dark band indistinct, not reaching marginal cell. Furthermore, female of P. prominula sp. nov. differs from P. bidentata sp. nov. by apical margin of clypeus weakly bisinuate, lateral projections not developed; tarsomere V of all legs with one spine near base ventrally; one inverted V-shaped macula present from below antennal socket to middle of frontoclypeal suture, metasoma with fewer yellow maculae and sparser setae; apical portion of wing infuscate, extending to apex of marginal cell. Description of female. Body length 18–23 mm, forewing length 16 mm. Body black; clypeus, labrum, mandibles (except apical 1 / 3 reddish-brown to black), labial palpus, maxillary palpus, one inverted V-shaped macula extending from below antennal socket to middle of frontoclypeal suture, narrow inner orbital stripe, antennal scape, collar, pronotum dorsally (except medline and posterior margin), color spots on posterior middle of mesoscutum and middle of metanotum, scutellum, meso- and metacoxae, femora and tarsis of all legs (except tarsomeres V darkened to blackish brown), and apices of T 1–6 and S 1–5 yellow; median line and posterior margin of pronotum, as well as apical margin of clypeus, with transparent edges. Wings yellowish-brown, hyaline, outer margin of forewing sometimes with indistinct dark narrow stripe. Head and mesosoma densely covered with short golden pubescence; vertex, frons, clypeus, mandibles, propodeum, and lateral sides of T 1 with long, erect, golden setae; S 1–6 with sparse setae basally, and with long, erect, brown setae apically; T 5 and T 6 with dense, long, erect, brown bristles; eyes with sparse microsetae. Head. Mandible with two inner teeth; maxillary palpus with fourth segment 1.4 times as long as third; clypeus large, distinctly wider than LID, apical margin weakly bisinuate, with median projection inconspicuous, clypeus elevated medially, 2.1–2.3 times as wide as long (Fig. 5 B); labrum usually concealed under clypeus, apical margin slightly emarginate medially; frons with shallow depression between eye and antennal socket above; eyes slightly convergent dorsally, nearly parallel ventrally, eye width greater than half of frons width (Fig. 5 B); UID: MID: LID = 45: 52: 59; ocelli arranged in one acute triangle, anterior ocellus larger than hind ocelli (Fig. 5 D); vertex nearly flat, ocellar area slightly elevated (Fig. 5 B); in lateral view, width of gena to eye = 18: 29; HW: HL = 100: 82; POD: OOD = 7: 15; ratio of antennal scape, pedicel, and LF 1 = 27: 8: 53, F 1 5.8–5.9 times as long as its greatest width (Fig. 5 C). Mesosoma. Pronotum shorter than mesoscutum, its posterior margin obtusely emarginate (Fig. 5 E); mesoscutum with parapsidal sulcus extending from posterior margin to about 2 / 3 of its length; scutellum and median portion of metanotum slightly elevated; metapostnotum with posterior margin obtusely emarginate medially, with smooth median depression extending from posterior margin to about anterior 4 / 5, anterior 1 / 5 and sides of depression with fine transverse striae; propodeum in lateral view elevated from base to middle, flattened apically, entire surface densely covered with coarse punctures and fine transverse rugae, with one indistinct shallow longitudinal groove medially (Fig. 5 F). Wings. Forewing with three submarginal cells; 1 m-cu received by SMC 2 beyond midpoint, at 0.73–0.81 of cell length from base; 2 m-cu received by SMC 3 before midpoint, at 0.34–0.38 from base; length of SMC 3 on M 1.2 times that of SMC 2; upper margin of SMC 3 1.2 times as long as that of SMC 2; distance from SMC 3 to outer margin shorter than its own length; marginal cell fusiform, acute apically; M not reaching wing margin (Fig. 5 G); hind wing cu-a arising from or slightly beyond fork of M + CuA (Fig. 5 H). Legs. Metatibia with two rows of scale-like teeth dorsally, inner ones larger than outer ones, each tooth bearing one spine; tarsomere V of all legs with one spine near base ventrally; claws with one inner tooth subapically (Fig. 5 I). Metasoma. Petiole absent; T 1 with lateral crease on both sides, crease not reaching posterior margin of T 1; S 2 with one transverse groove, ends of groove slightly curved posteriorly and extending to middle of lateral side of S 2. Male. Unknown. Etymology. The name prominula, derived from the Latin word prominula (= slightly prominent), referring the apical margin of clypeus weakly bisinuate, one of the main recognition characters of this species. Distribution. China (Chongqing, Guangdong, Sichuan, Zhejiang).
