Student placement and internship programs are important for connecting academic learning with professional opportunities. Managing student profiles, eligibility details, company information, applications, interview schedules, and selection outcomes manually can lead to duplicated records and delayed updates. This survey paper reviews existing placement and internship management systems and considers their common features, limitations, and possible improvements. A web-based Student Placement and Internship Tracker is proposed to centralize student information, publish opportunities, track application status, and support communication between students and placement coordinators. The system is intended to improve accessibility, organization, and progress monitoring while maintaining appropriate privacy and security controls. Its practical effectiveness would need to be assessed through implementation and user testing.
