The article examines a set of questions about the doctrinal definition of the general concept of the Special Part of the Russian criminal law. Certain distinctive features of the Special Part of the Criminal Law for the Russian legal system are established and studied in the context of historical and national determinants. Based on a retrospective, legal, technical and socio-legal analysis, a new look at the definition of the general concept of the Special Part is proposed, taking into account the specifics of the formation and formation of this systemic and structural component of the Russian criminal law.
