This study analyzes the lyrics of the song “Canção Infantil,” written by rapper César MC, featuring singer Cristal, based on the assumptions of the content analysis proposed by Bardin (1977). The study aims to understand the potential use of the song “Canção Infantil” in Geography teaching and to analyze the presence of geographical themes in its lyrics in dialogue with the competencies and skills established by the Brazilian National Common Curricular Base (BNCC, 2018) and the Ceará Curriculum Reference Document (DCRC, 2021). Methodologically, the research is characterized as qualitative and documentary in nature, using the song as a source of analysis and organizing the data according to thematic categories emerging from the musical text. The analysis shows that the song critically addresses issues such as structural racism, socio-spatial inequalities, and experiences of everyday urban life, enabling the mobilization of fundamental geographical concepts, such as territory, landscape, and place, thereby fostering critical interpretations of the social and spatial reality experienced by students. The song presents significant didactic and pedagogical potential for Geography teaching, as it contributes to contextualizing curricular content and bringing school knowledge closer to students’ sociocultural experiences. It is concluded that the use of the song in the classroom is consistent with the guiding documents of the Brazilian curriculum, as it encourages critical educational practices and strengthens the role of music as a mediating language in the process of teaching and learning Geography.
