ABSTRACT The development of Uzbek literature in the twentieth century is closely associated with the works of several prominent writers who significantly contributed to the formation of modern national prose. Among them, Shukur Kholmirzayev occupies a distinctive place because of his profound artistic interpretation of human psychology, national traditions, and social relations.This article analyzes the life and creative heritage of Shukur Kholmirzayev and evaluates his contribution to the development of Uzbek literature. The study focuses on the depiction of rural life, national values, and the psychological complexity of human character in the writer’s stories and novellas. Particular attention is given to the author’s narrative style, realism, and the philosophical ideas expressed in his works. The research demonstrates that Kholmirzayev’s literary heritage played an important role in the development of modern Uzbek prose and remains significant for contemporary literary studies.
