An archaeological watching brief was required on ground-breaking workings associated with the installation of a 40m communications mast, antennas, ground-based apparatus and ancillary development within forest land at Millbuie Forest, Mounthigh, Avoch. The archaeological watching brief was carried out on the 5th of December 2023. Two rectangular areas were excavated adjoining each other. Approximately 245m2 was excavated in total. No archaeological features or deposits were present and significant disturbance from the presence of forestry was noted. No further archaeological mitigation was recommended in relation to this development.
