Abstract

This interview is a part of the “Punjabi in BC” oral history project (2019-2023). “Punjabi in BC” is comprised of interviews with over 50 K-12 teachers, language advocates, journalists, and writers who have contributed to the life of the Punjabi language in British Columbia, Canada. The subject of this interview is Sadhu Singh, who was born in a small village in Jalandhar, Punjab. After completing his MA in Punjabi, he taught at various colleges and universities in Punjab. In Canada, he continued his passion for reading and writing, translating many books. This interview is divided into three segments and includes one promotional video. In the interview, Sadhu Singh talks about his educational journey, his works on historical figures, the violence and politics which prompted him to move to Canada, and the Punjabi community of BC.
