Abstract

This interview is a part of the “Punjabi in BC” oral history project (2019-2023). “Punjabi in BC” is comprised of interviews with over 50 K-12 teachers, language advocates, journalists, and writers who have contributed to the life of the Punjabi language in British Columbia, Canada.The subject of this interview is Satnam Singh Sangra who is an educator at New Westminster Secondary School and an Instructor at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Satnam has written extensively on Sikh issues, including human rights and the history of Sikhs in Canada. This interview with Satnam Singh Sangra is divided into two segments and includes one promotional video. In the interview, Satnam Singh Sangra discusses his volunteer work as a teacher, his engagement with students, and elaborates on practicing Sikhism on Indigenous lands.
