Genome assembly reveals two haplotypes and chromosomal structures in Helleia helle, indicating complexity in Lepidoptera.
<ns3:p>We present a genome assembly from a male specimen of <ns3:italic>Helleia helle</ns3:italic> (Violet Copper; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Lycaenidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 540.27 megabases and 540.28 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.66%) is scaffolded into 24 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z sex chromosome. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.51 kilobases.</ns3:p>
