Genome assembly reports two haplotypes in Erebia montana, suggesting insights into Lepidoptera genetics.
<ns3:p>We present a genome assembly from a female specimen of <ns3:italic>Erebia montana</ns3:italic> (Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Nymphalidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 597.21 megabases and 499.88 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (98.25%) is scaffolded into 24 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the W, Z<ns3:sub>1</ns3:sub>, and Z<ns3:sub>2</ns3:sub> sex chromosomes. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.2 kilobases.</ns3:p>
