Analysis reveals wear patterns and hardness levels in chisels used on sandy loam soils, highlighting improvements needed for wear resistance.
The study results of the technical condition of deep-tillage machine chisels manufactured by the TERRALAND company are presented. In the course of the study, a batch of parts used on sandy loam soils was analyzed. The technical condition of the chisels was assessed after 35 hectares of work concerning wear and hardness in various sections. Patterns of wear and hardness distribution along the length of the chisel were established. The data obtained indicate a significant influence of operating conditions on the geometric parameters and hardness of the work members. Conclusions are drawn about the need to develop hardening technologies in order to increase wear resistance.
